“Schiave” were a big family, which included both white fruit and red fruit grapes. During the Middleage the name “Schiava” referred to a white grape. In the 1800s, the black berry type was mainly cultivated which then replaced the white one. Its features are freshness and the fruity scents typical of this variety.
