This is one of the most important Austrian varieties and it is still cultivated in the Wachau and Stiria zones. Until the 60s, it was present in Trentino also at very high altitudes. It was cultivated in Valsugana, Cembra Valley and nearby Trento. This wine has a typical pome-fruity fragrance, it is possible to recognize the melon and the black pepper notes; elegant, sour and slightly tannic with mineral notes.
